The residents of Saxton Gardens are rightly proud of their local community but felt that they needed a bit of colour to their green areas. Veolia have funded new planters, gardening tools and seeds so that all local residents can take part in this gardening initiative and brighten up their neighbourhood.
The Bangladeshi Community Centre is an important community hub for many residents in East Leeds. Elderly residents enjoy a regular weekly luncheon club which encourages residents to come out of their homes and socialise. Veolia provided £150 of funding to pay for ingredients to help volunteer chefs provide a range of healthy meals from local producers.

In Leeds our local contract staff have forged links with Skelton Grange Environment Centre and in December they got their hands dirty by clearing space to create outdoor class room spaces where children can learn about their local environment and the importance of the local eco system.
